Important Claw Hammer links! For your learning and pleasure!
- First up - Jon Wahl's Site. There actually isn't much there but apparently he plans to get some more content going. Lots of information about his latest project, Jon Wahl and the Amadans, but unfortunately it's in some Flash page my Linux browsers can't load properly...
- Mr. Wahl also made a very interesting page for Birdman Records, the company who released his Sour Suite disc. I suggest you check it out.
- Chris and Jon play with legend Keith Morris in Midget Hand Job (also referred to as "Midget Handjob" but I'm going with the format on their site). Check it out - they both have individual pages in the 'band' section.
- Bob Lee's Homepage. There's some great information in there (his Claw Hammer discography section helped me muchly) as well as a TON of Bob Lee info, including show diaries and other cool oddities. Bob Lee is COOL
- If you're the kind of person who cares what the Trouser Press thinks, here's their Claw Hammer entry. Well, it's better than my fumbled "synopsis" anyway...
- Found another rundown of Claw Hammer's career on the iceberg.com site. Nothin' ya don't already know, but...
- Did you know you can still get 2 old Claw Hammer 7"s, the Za Za cassette, and some Claw Hammer related comps ? It's true! Trigon Records is still alive and putting out great L.A. music. They're really nice and very quick with online orders.
- Amazon.com has Claw Hammer CDs. Even the out-of-print ones are available from Amazon zshops from time to time. While you're there be sure to get Sour Suite! That album is AMAZING - picture, like, EVERYTHING ROCK AND ROLL taken away from the last Claw Hammer album...it's a weird, moody, amazing piece of music. It's also like 2 years old now! Hopefully there'll be more Wahl stuff, of any nature would be just fine...
- So you're a completist and just HAVE TO HAVE the Devo LP on vinyl? Come and bottom feed with the rest of the saps on EBay.
- Who is Brother Brick? None other than Jon's brother Phil Wahl. He's got a page here of some of his writings - but don't try the Claw Hammer link! It's down!
- There used to be a semi-official (I think) Claw Hammer site, but it's all gone now. However, by hunting around the ol' Wayback Machine you can check out various incarnations. Yes, I ripped a lot off of that page, which I wouldn't do normally if it was still up - but of course if it was still up, there'd be no reason for this one.
- Here's a thoughtful and astute review of the Sour Suite record from Dusted Magazine.
- I found the Italian Clawhammer Info Page. It's confusing, not only because it's not in English, but he gives the last couple Claw Hammer records ratings of 6/10, when they clearly deserve higher.
- NEW Stroll over to Epitaph records where they have pages for the records Thank The Holder Uppers (has 2 mp3s your can download) and Pablum (features 2 mp3s PLUS a great video for "William Tell" (requires RealPlayer))
